Hong Kong based airline, Cathay Pacific, has joined forces with VEDA by Ovolo, a prominent plant based restaurant in Hong Kong, to introduce an all plant inflight dining concept.

The collaboration presents an array of contemporary plant-based dishes, carefully designed to cater to the preferences of health-conscious travelers.


Cathay Pacific is bolstering its commitment to wellness by collaborating with VEDA by Ovolo. This partnership brings an innovative dining experience, primarily targeting Premium Economy and Economy class passengers on select long-haul flights departing from Hong Kong.

Passengers onboard Cathay Pacific flights can now indulge in a variety of plant-based options supporting both nutritional value and flavour.


These offerings redefine the notion of airline dining, aligning with VEDA's and Ovolo Hotels' ethical approach to cuisine. Notably, the partnership exemplifies Ovolo Hotels' plant-based initiative, marking a pioneering effort in embracing vegetarian-led dining among hotel brands globally.

Collaborating with VEDA's Executive Chef Raul Tronco, Cathay Pacific has navigated the challenge of creating an exquisite culinary experience at high altitudes. Adapting to the unique inflight environment, Chef Raul has crafted a selection of plant-based creations embodying Cathay Pacific's dedication to meticulous preparation and innovation.

Some of the new all plant dishes include the Thai classic, Panang dry curry tofu with cashews and coconut rice. As well a vegetable masala with green pulao rice, the harmony of spices and flavours is yet another stride to lowering the airlines carbon footprint.
