ChickP Protein, has shared a major success arising from its collaboration with the EU and PRIMA initiative called Localnutleg. At a recent project culmination in Lleida, Spain, ChickP's foundation packaged consumer product ChickP puffs, a 20% protein chickpea-based snack, was awarded first place among 21 innovative products.
Evaluated by sensory tests conducted by 140 European tasters, ChickP puffs (shown left) stood out as not only delicious but also surpassed expectations in taste and quality.
The protein-fortified snack market, valued at approximately $5.6 billion in 2023, is projected to grow 8-10% each year through 2030. Factors driving this surge include heightened awareness of health and nutrition and a preference for plant-based proteins like ChickP's offerings, which cater to vegan, vegetarian, and flexitarian diets.
ChickP's foundation protein isolates are distinguished by their versatility, non-GMO status, allergen-friendliness, and clean labeling, making them highly sought after in diverse food applications ranging from dairy alternatives to snacks.

The isolates are recognised for their functional benefits, including a neutral taste and light color, making them ideal for manufacturers seeking clean label ingredients.
As ChickP continues to lead with its innovative plant-based solutions, it invites attendees to explore their full range of products at the upcoming Food Ingredients Europe exhibition in Frankfurt, booth 3.0L36. Here, visitors can experience the award-winning ChickP puffs and other plant-based protein prototypes setting new standards in the food industry.
