In a significant move underscoring the growing trend towards plant-based alternatives, Kellogg’s, the monolithic global breakfast cereal maker, is adding 'munch to its crunch' via its plant-based meat subsidiary, MorningStar Farms.
The latest addition to the MorningStar Farms lineup is a juicy plant-based Quarter Pounder in the style of its Maccas animal meat cousin.
The product is a quarter-pound premium plant-based patty designed to deliver a meat-like taste and juicy texture, aimed at both traditional meat consumers, flexitarians and plant-based vegans.

The Steakhouse Style Burger looks thick, 'beefy' in flavour, and a texture closely resembling animal meat. Consumers have the option to dress it up with grilled or sautéed mushrooms and onions for a signature meal or experiment with their favorite toppings. Prep is quick and straightforward, taking less than five minutes, whether it’s on the frying pan , oven, grill, air fryer, or microwave.
Joe Beauprez, Senior Director of Marketing, Frozen Foods at MorningStar Farms, says consumers have been seeking a premium plant-based burger option easy to prep and resembling beef meat.

Health-conscious consumers will also appreciate the MorningStar Farms Quarter Pounder has 42% less fat than a cooked ground beef patty while providing 21g of protein per serving along with a good source of fiber. It is obviously fully vegan and 100% plant protein, meeting the standards of the Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA), further expanding the brand’s plant-based product range.
This new addition aligns with MorningStar Farms’ ethos to make plant-based eating enjoyable and accessible for everyone, offering a diverse range of options, from their popular Spicy Black Bean Burger to Chik’n Nuggets and breakfast staples like Sausage Patties.
