In an exciting win for plant-based pies everywhere, UK based, Magpye's Steak & Ale Pie has just scooped up PETA’s Best Pie of 2024 award! This prestigious award is a celebration of Magpye’s dedication to crafting mouth-watering vegan fare and honours everyone who has supported the journey, whether by tasting their delicious pies, sharing their story, or simply cheering them on.
Magpye’s founders, Chris and Sarah, expressed heartfelt thanks in a social post saying, “We’re beyond excited, grateful, and, honestly, a bit in shock! Thanks for sticking with us through every bake and every batch!”

The star of the show, Magpye’s Steak & Ale Pie, is a unique collaboration with Brass Castle Brewery, using their Bad Kitty porter to create a rich onion gravy, complemented by Sgaia’s artisan vegan steak. Each pie is wrapped in Magpye’s signature shortcrust pastry made with regenerative organic flour from Shipton Mill and premium plant-based butter from Naturli.
For those in the Gateshead area, the pie is available at The Fog on the Tyne, a longstanding partner and fellow PETA award-winner. Enjoy it with crushed potatoes, garden peas, and gravy for the full Magpye experience.
