Oat milk in coffee? Nothing new. But a coffee capsule made for oat milk? Now that’s a move.

Nespresso has teamed up with Oatly to launch a limited-edition coffee blend designed specifically to complement oat milk—because, let’s be honest, that’s what half the planet is drinking now anyway.

The Oatly Barista Edition Coffee is made for Nespresso’s Vertuo machines, blending rich, biscuity notes syncing perfectly with oat milk’s creamy sweetness. Forget bitter, acidic espresso clashes, this one’s all about smooth, mellow, and ridiculously easy drinking.

Why now? Simple. More and more people are ditching dairy, whether for taste, ethics, or environmental reasons. Oat milk has cemented itself as the go-to, especially in coffee culture, and big brands are finally catching up.

“At Nespresso, we’re all about taste, and we’re on a mission to make sure that every coffee lover out there can create their own perfect cup, just the way they like it,” says Karsten Ranitzsch, Nespresso’s Global Head of Coffee. “We know more and more people are reaching for plant-based drinks when preparing their favourite coffee recipe, which is why we are thrilled about our partnership with Oatly.”

Oatly’s Barista Development Director, Toby Weedon, agrees: “Thanks to its neutral taste, Oatly Barista Edition brings out the best flavour in coffee. It’s why it is used by professional baristas and embraced by coffee enthusiasts all over the world. We’re delighted to have worked with the experts at Nespresso to finally bring to market a coffee capsule that was tried and tested, especially for the millions of oat drink lovers out there.”

This oat-friendly capsule is now rolling out in 15+ countries, including the US, UK, China, and Australia. Available for a limited time, so oat devotees better stock up while they can.

One thing’s clear - plant-based coffee isn’t niche anymore. It’s mainstream, it’s here to stay, and it’s finally getting the attention (and the coffee) it deserves.
