Made using Sugar Kelp, grown and hand-harvested by independent family farmers in the clean and cold waters of Maine, these Kelp meatballs are sold in a package 24 morsels.

What sets these Kelp Meatballs apart is their exceptional flavour profile. With deep umami richness complemented by bright basil, green chickpea, and fresh kelp flavours, they provide a delightful culinary experience.

Apart from their taste, Kelp Meatballs offer a multitude of health benefits. Kelp, known as one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, is low in calories and fat while being an excellent source of iodine, magnesium, potassium, and probiotics. It's packed with antioxidants such as carotenoids and flavonoids and boasts the highest natural concentration of calcium of any food, surpassing even milk.

The versatility of Kelp Meatballs is another highlight. They can be served with gravy and mashed potatoes, in a meatless marinara pasta or meatball sub, as a salad topper, or as part of Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Northcoast Seafoods has been recognised for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. The Cambridge, Massachusetts school system and higher education institutions like Boston College have already embraced Northcoast's "veggie nuggets," with Kelp Meatballs also looking to be popular with students.

The product has also been crowned the winner in Food Management's Best Sustainability Concept competition for 2023.

By harnessing the power of Maine's kelp, Northcoast Seafoods not only provides delicious and nutritious food solutions but also positively contributes to the climate change response. Kelp farms help remove carbon from the ocean and mitigate the effects of ocean acidification.

Northcoast Seafoods proudly partners with Atlantic Sea Farms, supporting their efforts to remove over 150,000 lbs. (68,000kgs) of carbon from Maine's waters to-date.

Chef Andrew Wilkinson, Northcoast's Chef Director of Research and Development, enthusiastically endorses kelp as the most exciting food development he has seen in his 45-year career. Rich Polins, Principal at NCS, emphasises the company's commitment to sustainability and local economy support while providing nutritious and sustainable food options.
