Plant-Based Excellence Awards 2024 Celebrate Innovation with Multiple Triumphs

The 2024 Plant-Based Excellence Awards backed by the Plant Based World Expo Europe which opens in London next week, have shone a spotlight on the very best in the plant-based world, giving a well-deserved nod to products that wowed judges with taste, presentation, sustainability, and overall market appeal.


Beyond Meat was a major standout, bagging multiple Platinum Awards. Their Beyond Steak was a hit, delivering a mouthwatering, steak-like experience without the meat. Their Beyond Jalapeno Burger added a spicy kick to the plant-based scene, perfect for those craving bold flavours. And, of course, the classic Beyond Burger earned high marks for its enduring quality and popularity among plant-based fans.

This impressive medal haul confirms Beyond Meat's reputation as an industry innovator committed to top-notch, delicious plant-based offerings.


Konscious Foods, a company on PFN's watchlist, made waves too, taking home a Platinum Award for their Plant-Based Classic Smoked Salm’n. The judges were blown away by its authentic smoky flavour and texture, giving traditional smoked salmon a serious run for its money.

Over in the oat-based category, the Wessex Oat Company picked up two Gold Awards. Their Wessex Oat Latte was a creamy judge-pleaser, while the Caramel Oat Latte added a sweet twist leaving judges wanting more. These wins showcase the brand’s knack for crafting satisfying, high-quality oat beverages.

Other winners also caught our attention: Filbert’s Fine Foods took Platinum with their Japanese Teriyaki and Thai Tom Yum Mochi Rice Bites, praised for their exciting flavours and unique use of mochi. Fairfields Farm earned Gold for their Cheese & Onion Crisps, re-imagining this classic snack plant-style, while Other Foods Ltd scored Gold for their Crunchy Truffle Shiitake Mushrooms, recognised for their rich flavour and irresistible crunch.

Over-all category winners will be announced at the Expo at the ExCeL London between November 13 and 14th. The awards highlight the incredible diversity and innovation in the European plant-based sector, proving once again sustainable, delicious alternatives are here to stay.
