Protein From Fresh Air..Solein Explained

The company behind Solein is Solar Foods, a Finnish food tech company established in 2017 to 'liberate global food production'. The company is developing technology using fresh air to create protein cap[able of being used to create virtually any type of food.

They describe their 'protein invention' as 'The Mother Of All Proteins'

Here is a moving extract from their dynamic new website filled with 'explanation and imagination'

The company says Solein is not a carrot nor a cow. Instead, it originates from a natural, unmodified unmodified, single-cell organism. It is nonetheless a completely natural protein, even though it isn’t grown traditionally.

"A protein ingredient including all essential amino acids akin to soy protein, Solein can replace the protein in virtually any food.

START WITH AIR MOLECULES+ A MICROBE Solein® is made from natural single-cell organisms, which are grown in a fermentation process. Water is split with renewable electricity into hydrogen and oxygen. The cells are fed CO2, hydrogen and mineral nutrients.

CREATE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF FOOD These microorganisms are then able to make amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids (fats), and vitamins. They are the tiny heroes that do the heavy lifting in this process. We are only letting their microscopic lives fulfil their purpose: procreation and diversification.

END UP WITH A REVOLUTIONARY FOOD INGREDIENT When it’s time to harvest the Solein, the excess water is removed, and then it is finally dried into a fine protein powder, with no plants or animals harmed in the process"
