Revo Foods Unveils World's Largest 3D Food Printing Facility in Vienna

Austrian based, Revo Foods, has officially opened the doors to what it declares as the "world’s largest" industrial facility for 3D food printing. Dubbed the 'Taste Factory,' this innovative hub is strategically situated in Vienna, and is designed to produce an impressive 60 tons of 3D-printed food products each month.

Utilizing Revo Foods’ proprietary 3D Structuring Technology, the facility marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind to implement 3D food printing on such a large commercial scale. This advanced technology expertly blends two essential materials - fat and protein - to craft complex, new forms emulating the juicy, tender textures ideal for plant-based salmon fillets and steaks. The integration of fat enhances the layers of the product, significantly improving the mouthfeel and aroma when cooked.

Robin Simsa, CEO of Revo Foods, says the new factory opens up a complete range of new food innovation including mycoprotein bio-inks. “With the Taste Factory, we are showcasing that this technology works on an industrial scale. This enables a new generation of food innovations. With 3D Structuring, we can create entirely new textures using simple but nutrient-rich ingredients like mycelium, creating products that are just so much more exciting.”

Revo Foods is also exploring partnerships for future product developments, aiming to unveil these collaborations by early 2025. These advancements are expected to cater to the growing consumer interest in personalised nutrition and mass customisation.

This strategic expansion not only aims to meet the demand for sustainable and innovative food solutions but also sets a new benchmark in the plant-based food industry, promoting both environmental sustainability and dietary wellness.
