Solar Foods' 'protein from air' product, Solein, has reached a critical milestone in its journey toward commercialisation. With the self-affirmed GRAS status, Solar Foods anticipates launching its commercial operations in the U.S. by the end of the year, allowing them to begin marketing and sales activities. This status is a significant precursor to further regulatory steps, including registering their production facility with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Chief Commercial Officer Juan Benitez-Garciaat Solar Foods says "Obtaining self-affirmed GRAS status is the first step towards entering the United States. We will shortly be able to launch commercial activities in this significant new market, including marketing and sales operations, and drive our growth. So far this has been possible only in Singapore".
