What sets the Brighter Burger apart is its remarkable environmental impact. Each burger generates just 0.34 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), a staggering 94% less than the 5.77 kg emitted by a standard beef burger. This significant reduction is made possible by sourcing all ingredients sustainably and incorporating regenerative farming practices that also tackle food waste.
Nutritionally, the Brighter Burger is designed to appeal to both students and parents. It provides a wholesome combination of high-quality plant proteins, dietary fibre, and essential nutrients such as vitamin B12 and zinc, ensuring it meets the demands of growing minds and bodies without compromising on flavour.
The burger’s success was evident during a pilot at Epsom College in Surrey last year, where an overwhelming 74% of students expressed their desire to see it become a permanent menu item. This enthusiastic response highlights the growing interest among younger generations in making ethical food choices aligning with their values.
Now rolling out across schools nationwide, the Brighter Burger is more than just a meal option; it’s a powerful educational tool. By introducing students to delicious, sustainable alternatives, schools are fostering a culture of conscious eating, paving the way for a greener, healthier future.
This Veganuary, the Brighter Burger is proving small changes on the menu can lead to big impacts for Planet Earth not to mention it's influence on younger generations.
